Travel around Mount Teide,
Europe's highest dormant volcano, 12.198 feet, see the
spectacular lunar landscape, in the "Caldera de las Cañadas",
where scenes for "Star Wars", "The planet of the apes" and
"The ten commandments" were filmed. We stop on the road for a
coffee and travel down through the beautiful green Orotava
Valley to Puerto de la Cruz, where you can go shopping or view
the beautiful old churches and other buildings, take a sea
front walk and see the markets stalls, the huge swimming pools
of the Martianez complex, the botanical gardens, all of wich
are well worth a visit. on our way back, we stop at the
fishing village of Candelaria, where you can see the statue of
the black virgin, the Saint Mother of the Canary Islands |
